How I Created the Journalverse: A World Built from Healing, Imagination, and Ephemera Magic

My name is Demetria Hauser, the Fairy Godmother behind Ephemera Vibes, and this is the story of how I turned my journal pages into a whole universe.

Why I Started Building the Journalverse

The Journalverse wasn’t something I sat down and planned like a blueprint. It came to me in pieces—through journal prompts I wrote to survive hard days, through late-night collaging sessions, through prayers whispered while cutting washi tape. I needed a place where Black women like me could feel seen, powerful, soft, and expressive—on paper, in print, in community.

I realized: I wasn’t just journaling.
I was world-building.

Every kit I made felt like it had its own energy, its own season, its own story. So I asked myself—what if every kit was part of one big, interconnected world?

And that’s when the Journalverse was born.

What the Journalverse Is

The Journalverse is a fictional, ever-expanding world made up of locations, characters, and scenes you meet through my journaling kits. You might visit:

• Graceland Hospital – Where hearts are healed through forgiveness and creative expression

• The Crowned Chronicles – A matriarchal legacy of wisdom passed down through generations

• Journaling Retreats in Glitter Valley – A cozy creative hideaway where journalers recharge

• Sticker City – Where the ephemera never runs out and your pens never dry

Each kit is like a passport to a new part of the Journalverse. I wanted people to fall in love with the story while they journal. To not only decorate a spread but become part of the lore.

Why I Create Journaling Kits

I started making kits because I needed therapy I could touch. Something spiritual and beautiful to guide my healing and creativity. I wanted more than just blank pages—I wanted meaning, themes, stories, characters, color palettes, affirmations, and prompts that held space for me.

Now I create these kits for every girl who needs a safe place to land on paper. For the artists, the overthinkers, the broken hearts, the daydreamers, and the girls rewriting their lives one page at a time.

Where It’s Going: Growing the Journalverse

I’m just getting started.
The Journalverse will grow into:
